Paul W. "P.W." Simon, 62, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Stein Hospice Care Center.

He was born September 18, 1950 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Paul W. "Smokey". and Pauline Bischoff Simon and was a lifelong area resident. Paul was an Eagle Scout and was also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Firelands Post #2743 Veteran of Foreign Wars, and Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion. He was a former employee of the Norwalk Reflector, starting his career as a carrier and working his way up to Circulation Manager. Paul was also a conductor for the Norfolk and Western (Norfolk and Southern) Railroad in Bellevue retiring in 1991. He enjoyed canoeing, fishing, gardening, bird watching, and taking trips to Holmes County to visit his many Amish friends.

Paul is survived by his long time companion, Jeanne Schaffer of Monroeville, Ohio, by his sister and brother in law, Annette and Robert Barnett of Plymouth, Ohio, by his nephew, Chad Barnett, by his niece, Lisa Barnett, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Fred Simon. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msg. Kenneth Mormon will officiated. Interment was in St. Paul Cemetery.

Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio 448760, to the Norwalk Salvation Army, 55 Whittlesey Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio 44857, or to the Donor's favorite charity.
