John J. Lolla, Sr.,95, of Norwalk, Ohio, died peacefully, Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born July 2, 1917 in Huron, Ohio to the late Simeon and Antonia (Macioce) Lallo. John was a 1936 graduate of Huron High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W. II with the 66th "Black Panther" Division. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron, Ohio and was also a member of Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Ohio, Firelands Post #2743
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Norwalk, Ohio, and the Amvets of Norwalk, Ohio. John was a former member of the Firelands Coin Club, the Norwalk Elks Club, and Knights of Columbus Council #626, Norwalk, Ohio. He was the own=
er of ohn's Barber Shop in Norwalk, Ohio for 40 years retiring in 2005. John enjoyed friends and neighbors, golf, fishing, yard work, playing the violin, playing cards and spending time with his family. As a young man
he excelled in running track and in the field events both in high school and in his military service.
He is survived by his sons and daughter in law, John J. "Jack" and Julie Lolla, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and D. Hoyt Lolla of Columbus, Ohio, and by his grandchildren, Meredith and John Hedeen and Carolyn and Joe Paletta, and by his great granddaughters, Anna and Ivy Hedeen.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jane (Hoyt) Lolla in 2010 and by his siblings, Louis Lolla, Catherine Lolla Pisano, Anthony Lolla, Annie Lolla Anderson, Edna Lolla Zeno, Joseph Lolla and Samuel Lolla.
There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, Ohio. Rev. Jeffrey P. Sikorski will officiate. Interment will be in North Fairfield Cemetery.
