Helen M. Ruffing, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Friday evening, December 7, 2012 in Twilight Gardens Home.
She was born March 30, 1921 in Bismark, Ohio to the late Alex and Rose (Kopping) Heitz and was a lifelong area resident. Helen was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Women of St. Paul. She was a former caterer, serving wedding receptions, graduation parties and fraternal and civic groups. Helen had also been a housekeeper for various area families. She enjoyed yard work and cooking.
She is survived by her daughter, Dolly Ruffing of Norwalk, Ohio, and by her sister, Fran Gilbert of Bellevue, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Clement Ruffing in 1976, by her brothers, John, Joe, and Leo Heitz, and by her sisters, Sister Rose Anna Heitz and Agnes Morman.
Friends may call on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
