David Schaefer age 67 of Bellevue passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at his residence.
He was born November 3, 1945 in Bellevue, the son of the late William V. & Elizabeth "Betty" (Moyer) Schaefer.
Dave was employed for 40 years at Green Bay Packaging in Fremont until his retirement in 2007. He was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church, serving as treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was an avid Ohio State fan, and loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He married the late Carol C. (Blake) Schaefer June 17, 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church. She preceded him in death Oct. 5, 2007.
Survivors include his son; Matt Schaefer of Bellevue, daughter; Kristen (Ben) Stoll of North Fairfield, grandchildren; Justin McKenzie, Bella, Logan, Luke and Amelia Stoll, and Jordan and Austin Schaefer, one brother; Stephen (Linda) Schaefer of Bellevue, sister; Jane (Kirk) Horn of Bellevue and Cynthia (Frank) DeLuca of Huron; sister-in-law, Carol Schaefer of Youngwood, PA; and special friend, Diane Streeter of Bellevue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother William Schaefer.
Friends will be received on Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. The Rosary will be recited Sunday at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery.
The family encourages friends to wear Ohio State attire.
