Nora L.M. Clark

Nora L.M. (Craig) Clark, 94, Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.

She was born on June 1, 1916 in Seneca, SC, to Alexander and Alice Pearly Maudell (McKinney) Craig. She was one of five children and was raised by her grandparents. As a child she was often referred to by the nickname "Hannah" and moved to Sandusky 87 years ago. She married the late Albert Clark, Sr. and together they were blessed with twelve beautiful children. She retired from the Erie Co. Sheriff's Dept. where she served as cook. She was a member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Church where she served as a trustee helper, a past choir member, and served on various auxiliaries. Nora loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Family was everything to her and she enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Diane Maudell L. (Tommy) Hayes, Sheila M. Clark Alexander Prophet, Brenda Birdeen Clark; sons, Stanley Wade Clark, Bradford Lee (Teresita) Clark, Richard Darryl Clark, and Mark Craig Clark, all of Sandusky; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Elmer Clark; nieces, Gloria Jean (Charles) Lott, and Dolores Hilaael; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Nimmons Clark, Sr., in 1987; children, Margaret Vivian Todd, Nancy Ann McKinney, Albert Marshall Clark, and infants, Norma Jean Clark and Elmer Eugene Clark; her parents; brothers, Eugene Craig, Ernest Craig, and Robert Craig; sister, Viola (Craig) Thomas; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call on Friday, November 26, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St. Sandusky. Rev. Tommy O.Hayes, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery.
