Douglas "Doug" E. Pierce, 65, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, January 7, 2013 in Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born on May 23, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Clinton and Ethel (Booth) Pierce.
Doug was a U.S. Army Veteran, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era.
He was a truck driver for many years. Doug was a former member of the American Legion Post 83. In his earlier years, he loved hunting. He also loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and his two dogs, Sassy and Coca.
Doug is survived by his children, Mechelle, of New York, Sherry, of North Carolina, and Lilo and Richard, both of Sandusky; step-mother, Ann; siblings, Jerry, Larry, Jessie, Joey, and Connie; step-sister, Anna "Cookie"; and his uncle, John Williams.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine.
Friends may call from 3-4 P.M. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 4 P.M., with Rev.
