Robert E. "Bob" Strimpfel, 82, of Norwalk died Sunday afternoon, January 27, 2013 in Fisher Titus Medical Center.

He was born August 5, 1930 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Robert E. and Clara (Conney) Strimpfel and was a lifelong area resident. Bob was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a 1948 graduate of St. Paul High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He had worked for Maxi Tire, Lawsons, Crow Lumber (Home Lumber) and retired in 2002 from Strimpfel's Windows and Door. He enjoyed woodworking, constructing mini barns, wallpapering, bird watching, gardening, farming, and being with his family. Bob was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Beatrice (White) Strimpfel, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Ron and Pat Strimpfel of Bluffton, South Carolina, Candy and Dan Finley of Collins, Ohio, Mark and Kelly Strimpfel of Norwalk, Ohio, Krista and Ed Wagner of Collins, Ohio, Dawn and Bob Stetzel of Hanahan, South Carolina, Scott and Kara Strimpfel of Wakeman, Ohio, Trisha Schaffer of Norwalk, Ohio, Shane and Kris Strimpfel, Ret. A.F. of Sumpter, South Carolina, Kyle and Joyce Strimpfel of Hanahan, South Carolina, and Tiffany and Joe Eichelberger of Louisville, Ohio, 37 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.

Bob is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, Larry and Rusty Strimpfel of Franklin, Ohio, and Gary and Dolly Dick of Berlin Heights, Ohio and by his sisters, Francis Ringlein of Norwalk, Ohio and Marge Koehnle of Norwalk, Ohio.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 4:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
