Dennis L. Vogus, 69, of Berlin Heights, Ohio, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Admirals Point Nursing Center, Huron, Ohio.
He was born March 29, 1943 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Kenneth W. and Alberta M. (Schwanger) Vogus and was a lifelong area resident. Dennis attended St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio, a graduate of St. Paul High School and was a member of the Cement Mason's Union Local #109. Dennis was a former Realtor and had been sales in the Columbus area and returned to Norwalk to work at Oglesby Construction Company where he had worked in high school. He retired from Oglesby Construction after 40 years of service. He enjoyed boating and fishing, working and tinkering around home, spending time with his kids and grandchildren, traveling, and enjoying casino's, especially Las Vegas.
Dennis is survived by his children, Lisa M. and Mark Calco of Willoughby, Ohio, Brad and Ilaine Vogus of Monroeville, Ohio, and Matt and Angie Vogus of Milan, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Walter, Karly, Kaley, Hunter, Emily, and Allison, and by his sister and brother in law, Judy and Terry Hazelwood of Norwalk, Ohio and by his brother and sister in law, Michael and Shirley Vogus of Norwalk, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen B. (Kathy) Vogus in 2009.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
