Robert P. Eggleston, 85,of Norwalk, Ohio, died Wednesday evening, February 6,2013 in his home.
He was born April 1, 1927 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Orrye R. and Florence (Shibley) Eggleston, and was a lifelong area resident . He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W. II. Bob was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a member and former treasurer of the International Association of Firefighters Local #1199. He served 31 years with the Norwalk Fire Department retiring in1981 as Lieutenant and was a former employee of P & R Hardware from 1972 to 2006. Bob enjoyed fishing, yard work, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching their sporting events.
He is survived by his children, Stephen R. Eggleston of Norwalk, Ohio, Susan E. and Jack Tyler of Norwalk, Ohio and Theresa L. and Doug Coletta of Norwalk, Ohio, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Quilter) Eggleston in 2008, and by his sisters, Alberta Eggleston and Jean Eggleston
Friends may call on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Fr. Frank Kehres will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
