Ira B. Turner, 68, New London, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born on March 13, 1944 in Wise Co. VA.
Ira worked for Poly One and Janesville in Norwalk, OH.
He loved sports, The Ohio State University and Dallas Cowboys. Ira loved to draw, play horseshoes, watch westerns, and spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara (Kidd) Turner; children, Lisa Meade, VA, Becke (Brian) Schutt, Darryl (Jennifer) Kidd, David (Diana) Kidd, Joshua Turner, and Lucas Turner all of Ohio; nineteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, J.C. (Nancy) Turner, Audrey Carter, Arthur (Sylvia) Turner, Erlene (Leon) Cloud, Sandra (Oakley) Hartsock, Peggy Turner and Pam Turner all of VA, Emma Sutherland, MD, Glenda (Paul) Hill, and Jackie (Terri) Turner both of N.C., and Lillie (Paul) Biecheler of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lola (Booher) Turner; and siblings, Carter Turner, Ruth Tome, and Bernice Brown.
Friends may call on Friday, February 15, 2013, from 4 P.M. until time of funeral services at 6:30 P.M. in the Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Wally Gilbert will officiate. The body will be transported to Castlewood, VA, for services and burial.
