James M. Price, 76, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 in Twilight Gardens Home.
He was born July 17, 1937 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania to the late James LeRoy Morrell and Ida Mae (Fair) Price and came to this area in 1967 from Homer City, Pennsylvania. James attended the Salvation Army. He retired in 1999 from Clevite Elastomer (Tenneco) in Milan, Ohio, and for the former Preis Store and Norwalk Bargain Center. James was a member of the Wood Carvers and was a master carpenter, furniture maker and also enjoyed restoring cars.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nellie M. (Shearer) Price of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, James R. and Laurie Price of Monroeville, Ohio, Ronald L. and Deborah Price of Amherst, Ohio, Debra Cox of Norwalk, Ohio, Jay H. and Doris Price of Norwalk, Ohio and Steven J. Price of Sandusky, Ohio, 19 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. James is also survived by his siblings, Edna Kephart of Naty Glo, Pennsylvania, Robert and Linda Price of Homer City, Pennsylvania, and Dolores and Gene Silvis of Toral, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael A. Price in 1999, by his grandson, William Nelson in 2009, by his great granddaughter, Monica Rose, by his brothers, Harry and infant brother, Billy, and by his sister, Louise Wadding.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Olena Cemetery, Olena, Ohio. Rev. Paul Lamb, Pastor of Norwalk First Baptist Church and Cpt. Michael Morales of the Norwalk Salvation Army will officiate.
