Joseph D. Reed, age 48, of Castalia, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 13, 1964, in Berlin Heights, and was a 1982 graduate of EHOVE. He owned and operated Reed Supply in Castalia, and loved motorcycles.
Joe is survived by his parents John and Carolyn Reed of Castalia; one daughter Jennifer L. Reed of Toledo; two sons Lucas A. Reed of Castalia, and Andrew D. Reed of Columbus; 6 grandchildren Hunter, Lance, and Casey Reed, Noah and Hannah Kearns, and Amirah Stokes; his companion of many years Marlene Taylor, and her children Mariah Riedy, Dalten, Gabriel, and Deven Taylor; 3 sisters Sandy (Rick) Fayard of Missouri, Mary Jo (Mike) DeChant of Huron, and Karen (Terry) Blankenship of Castalia; 6 brothers Mike Reed of Clyde, Thomas Reed of Findlay, James (Lisa) Reed of Indiana, Robert Reed of Fostoria, Paul (Mary) Reed of Clyde, and Johnny (Niki) Reed of Bellevue; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Reed and brother Daniel Reed.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in the Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 10 AM Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, until time of services at 11 AM. Cremation will follow.
